Abstract. The research was conducted in a greenhouse on gomphrena grown in peat. Flowering, height, weight of plants and decorative value were investigated. Plants were fertilized with nitrogen 1.28; 2.56; 3.84 g N·plant-1 and potassium fertilizer: KCl; K2SO4; KNO3.

Summary
The effect of increasing doses of nitrogen and different kind of potassium fertilizer on yielding, growth and decorative value of gomphrena was investigated. The greenhouse experiment was conducted in 2 dm-3 plastic bands with peat substrate. The obtained results indicate that a greater number of inflorescence was found while KCl and K2SO4 were applied rather than when KNO3 and N doses were used. After drying the material neither lost its color nor decorative value and remained stable.
